On 66th birthday, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested by Thames Valley Police. He is

arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office and following a series of allegations

connected to the handlinger’s handling of sensitive legal information.

The news marks a significant escalation in scrutiny covering the Duke of York’s past official

activities and professional roles during his time representing the United Kingdom in global trade

roles.

According to media reports, investigators are working on claims that Andrew allegedly shared

confidential government papers with several individuals. The list also includes convicted sex

offender Jeffrey Epstein. More allegations suggested that the material may have included

reports from official trade visits, confidential papers related to the investment breaks in

Afghanistan, and a Treasury document that was reportedly shared with a business associate.

Thames Valley Police have not yet disclosed the complete information that led to the arrest. The

officials have stressed that more inquiries are going on. Legal experts have noted that Andrew’s

royal status of the UK royal family does not grant immunity and should not control how the

case is evaluated under British law.

Andrew has already denied any wrongdoing linked to Epstein. However, he has not responded to

new media requests looking for a comment on the latest allegations. It adds on questions raised

following the release of millions of Epstein-related files in January. By the police as more

investigations continue, the case is predicted to draw intense public and political attention both in

the UK and at the international level.
